Driving, family, and a baby shower

We've been gone a lot since the last post! Anna told everyone last time that it was fun to be home...for a little while. Well, that was about two weeks ago, and we've been up and down the entire Eastern seaboard since then! On July 6, we began our trek up by driving to Philadelphia, where we stayed with my friend Geoff for the night. Always fun to catch up on things. After a quick stopover, we finished the trip up the next day to New Hampshire. We were in NH from then until this past Thursday, the 17th. While there, we visited family and friends, went to the beach, spent some time at Lake Winnepesaukee, ate lots, and had a wonderful baby shower as well, with mostly my family and some family friends as well. We got lots of wonderful things for Baby Brink, most notably three "heirlooms:" 1) a wonderful hand-stitched tapestry of animals and a boat that my grandmother made me when I was born that was in my room as a baby; 2) a framed, hand-crafted edition of the poem "Children Learn what the Live" by Dorothy Law Nolte that was also in my room as a child; 3) most importantly, my blanket, which I used quite frequently as a child, so much so that there are several holes in the blanket itself. All in all, it was a wonderful time. Besides the major points listed above, we had an absolute great time just spending time with family. Tyler and Delaney are both growing up so quickly, but are just the best children in the world. Even though we were in NH for more than a week, it went by too quickly and it was not nearly long enough. I think that we did maximize our stay though, because we all had a great time. After we left NH, we made our way to New Jersey and beyond, but that is for another day. Stay tuned later for more pictures and stories of our day in New York City, which included Anna deservedly ramming a door into a father and daughter!
